What to Expect

Your First Visit

Patient Forms

Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family. We will request that you complete our patient forms located in the New Patient Center. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition. Completing your paperwork prior to your first visit will save time and we encourage you to do so if at all possible.

Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Tunick to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. If you have had prior imaging studies such as MRI examination, please bring any reports or CD’s that are in your possession. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Tunick to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how we can meet your goals. The consultation will include understanding your chief complaints and how it affects your life, an extensive health history and a review of any prior treatments you have had.

Physical Examination

After your consultation, Dr. Tunick will perform a complete physical examination testing your reflexes and flexibility. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed as well. These tests provide further information on identifying the actual cause of your problem. Dr. Tunick refers to this as the ‘pain generator’.

Imaging Studies

If you have had MRI imaging studies performed and they are available for review, Dr. Tunick will read them personally during your visit. These studies are immensely helpful in identifying the actual cause of your condition and are critical in developing an effective treatment plan. Dr. Tunick will thoroughly explain the MRI images to you at this time so that you fully understand the findings.

Report of Findings

Once a thorough consultation, history, physical examination and MRI review have been completed, Dr. Tunick will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions you may have. Our goal is to get to the root cause of your complaint and to identify ‘the pain generator’ so an effective treatment plan can be developed that will allow you to “take back your life”.

At this time Dr. Tunick will advise whether we can help you and what the recommended treatment protocol would be. If you require care with other providers due to the complexity of your case, he will explain this in detail. Our goal is to provide you excellent care and the natural pain solutions you have been seeking.
